Why the Association is objecting
- The site is outside the settlement boundary of Melbourne and is not allocated for housing. The proposal conflicts with the development plan (Local Plan policies S1, H1, SDT1 and BNE5).
- Development here would erode the gap between Melbourne and Kings Newton and harm the landscape character of the approach to the village (BNE4).
- The proposed access onto Derby Road would harm highway safety. We ask for a transport statement showing visibility splays, speeds and pedestrian links.
